... the river the water was murky and you couldn't see your feet but on the plus side it was warm! The current was so strong that you basically could just float and you'd move along at quite a quick pace. We only floated onto the next spring which took no time at all so we exited the river and got out of the springs to shower and warm up. It was almost supper time so we set up the 'kitchen' and a small shelter because the weather ...

... town of White Springs. Built in 1903 this 40 room hotel offered an acetylene lighting system, its own water plant, a dairy and a vegetable garden. Known as the Hotel Jackson in the 1920s, the structure has served as a bread & breakfast, nursing home, private residence, a restaurant and headquarters for a national broadcasting company.

... frequent for the next few weeks, as we will be mostly stationary until late March, when we begin the northward swing. It is beginning to look like we may not go home until July, when the "Spring Thaw" occurs.

We are SO grateful for our friends who have tolerated us - we have thoroughly enjoyed the visits. Thank you, thank you. The rest of you, watch out. We may appear at any moment!!
