    Our Journal: Got up around 5:30 and put the bags outside of our room for pickup at 7:30. Boarded the bus at 8:15. Left Revelstoke at 8:45 it was raining. First stop was Lake Shuswap, second stop was Log Barn (goat feeding). Saw a Home Depot in Vernon. Had lunch there got a meal at Safeway and ate outside. ...

    ... the chef brought up some freshly baked cookies to soothe our stomachs. We eventually pulled into Kamloops at about 9.30pm, past the Roman Catholic church and the war cemetery, and drew into the station to the salute of the local mounted police.

    Off the train and onto the coach, we were at the hotel within 15 minutes. They had already pre-checked us in and given us our keys and the luggage was already in our room. It’s been a long day so time for some ...

    ... shimmering up a spindly pine, a great moment. We immediately thought of the Play School song, "there's a bear in there" but refrained from singing it. The food and wine on the train were quite outstanding but due to the late start we had breakfast about 10.30 and lunch at 3 pm. We were meant to arrive in Kamloops for an overnight stay about 6.30. Due to the various stops for freight trains and the late start we didn't arrive until 9.30. ...

    ... br> We don't really stand in a position to complain, however. Here we are, with season's passes to a fantastic ski resort awaiting our return, when we'll also start skate skiing at a host of local nordic clubs and resorts. We've also just finished a season of mountain biking and hiking all over British Columbia. Still, our passports and backpacks called our names...all the way to Nepal.
