... and water….. Man, that was rough.
We woke up before 3 am after fitful sleeps to get ‘er done and catch a cab to the airport at 4 am. We stopped through O’hare on the way to Newark. We’re staying at my college buddy’s place in New York’s Upper East Side. (Thanks Darrin!).
After all the worries, we have no regrets and look forward to the journeys that lay ahead.
Took off to get to the John Deere factory by 10am, stopped for a take out coffee, got some fuel and then Greg realised he had left his hat and sunnies at the motel - but a quick call had the motel hold them until later. ... The load out on the other hand was not so smooth. I couldn't help but get the feeling that video was the red headed stepchild of the tour. We were shuffled out of the way, limited on resources to accomplish what needed to get done, than delayed nearly two hours before being able to load our trucks. After finally getting loaded and off to the bus, I was rudely awoken by a bad bout with catering. The perfect end to the day... not.
I left Madison at about 4:00pm feeling grateful for Sam and Michelle's hospitality, as well as for lunch with Dan and Kristin.
