... we watched one of the visitors help an elderly man who could not walk well to a car.  We thought he was going to sit in it because it was getting cool but before we know it he is driving off and it takes him about 6 tries to make a U turn and then some people had to get out of their chairs and move so he didn't run them over.  Guess everyone has their problems of when to stop letting elderly people drive. Our plan is to be traveling for about two months crossing the country by a northern route to Oregon and Washington. In Oregon we hope to stop by Crater Lake and the Columbia River Gorge before heading into Washington for views of Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Ranier, touring Seattle and a whale watch around the San Juan Islands. Then it is north and west through western Canada and into Alaska.

A record by a landslide this ...

We started the day by driving through Bird In Hand to Intercourse. In junior high we all had to giggle when we heard that name. We walked around the town a bit and ended up at Kitchen Kettle Village which was a fake village filled with little shops. I kind of felt like I was in Disneyland.

A few of the shops actually had authentic Amish homemade stuff - a quilt shop, a ...

... two rivaling spots. I parked and let him walk around to check out both places (Geno’s and Pat’s, see pics below) before making a final decision on Pat’s which looked more local then touristy like Geno’s. Your choices when ordering are "wit onion or wit-out" and “wit provolone or cheese whiz”. Blake went wit onion and wit cheese whiz and devoured it before we even made it back on the highway! We made it ...
