... busy and Karen and I really stuck out among the Peruvians. We were going to walk further down the road but a local man stopped us and told us it was not safe for us to go there alone so we walked back to the wharf. At the dock there were local vendors selling everything Peruvian, and we we able to buy a few things. The ship left port at 4:20, heading to Callao, Peru which is the port for Lima and the jump off point for us as we fly to Machu Picchu for the next 3 days.
And we are off. It is very early and a very long day is about to start. So far so good. We are able to sit together on the first flight. This morning everyone we meet is friendly and efficient. Here is hoping that it is a good omen.
