... back!!!!!!! So I finished up having a seriously sharp cut that will take a month or two to grow back to normal, but never mind it is very easy to look after! We returned to the motel for a shower etc. and then returned later on, after the traffic had calmed down, to the Gaslamp District where we found an Irish Pub that had a great menu and we enjoyed a beaut dinner! Tomorrow we will look over the USS Midway museum and then head back to LA for our last 2 ...

... were the lamas which seemed to have some unique personalities between them. We moseyed through the rest of the zoo stopping at the tortoises, reptile enclosures, the monkeys and birds and whatever else tickled our fancy at the time. The squirrels ( running wild) were friendly enough to pop out and say hello every now and then. But most of the big cats were hiding high up or behind things. ... and someone came to the rescue with the funding, otherwise they would have had to close down) These are the moments I have loved about this trip where you meet someone new and they have some tie to another strange adventure from the trip. Camping (yes I know we were not officially in a tent) has always been the best for meeting friendly folk.

... as we approached Santa Barbara. We parked by the marina and walked along the harbour wall before driving further down and walking along Stearns Wharf - had we known we would have parked on the wharf itself!!! Santa Barbara beach front was different great and Richard enjoyed seeing all the beach volleyball courts along the beach front. We really enjoyed driving along the coastal highway.
