... These mountains are known as the Alps of Nevada and it is clear to see why. The highlight of the day was when we were visited by the resident beaver in the campground who was enjoying a dinner of aspen leaves in the creek next to our campsite, not ten feet from us - what a treat!

It seems that we have quickly become experts at "less is more" because we enjoy ourselves more when we do ...

Both at the Reno RV Park and after leaving, we spotted many vehicles heading toward Burning Man. One RVer in the Reno RV Park was masking over all of the openings in his motor home to keep out the white playa dust. Every one was carting many bicycles. Some had signs and paintings. Most were quite recognizable. After quite a few miles, we finally outran the smoke from the Yosemite Rim fire, and the desert ...

... State parks, most of which are off the beaten path, but also the more interesting cities of the US like Chicago. The first night's travel took us to Nevada and into the Humbolt National Forest park which is in the Ruby mountains. This area is really quite spectacular with perched lakes (Lake Lamoille) and if it had been a good snow season there would have been snow fields to explore too. We managed to hike to the first major lake and Ruby ...
