Also there existed the slightest hint of fall colors appearing all around.
Despite the beauty of nature all around, there was also ample opportunities to ‘cut loose’ and play around the ‘Twisties’ (curves) that the mountain road had to offer…… ...
... and their family in Radford were had a feast of good ole southern down home cooking. After dinner we headed back up to Salem and stopped by our old water hole, Mac and Bobs to join the party!
On our way out of Town on Sunday we made sure to stop by Alligator Alley, a favorite store of ours, for my husband to pick up a new Lacoste shirt.
We were in no rush to get to Salem, Va and since we had missed Skyline the day before, we spontaneously decided to exit of I-81 in order to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway down to Roanoke. It was such a gorgeous day - the weather was perfect - and this was just a really nice relaxing drive!

We were going back to the Natural Bridge for a laser show tonight at 9:00, but it started raining with storms expected in the area so we marked that off our list. We were ready to shower and relax anyway so that is what we are doing tonight. We hope to make it into Pennsylvania for the weekend. BTW - Tomorrow is our 43th anniversary!
Natural Bridge, Virginia, United States tiffintraveler... Ridge parkway. There were a ton of deer in the park and we ever saw a couple of young Black Bears. We're stopped for lunch now at a Denny's, which I think is making Chris cry a little on the inside, but they have free wifi. Hard to pass up a deal like that. Not sure where we'll be tonight. Asheville? Memphis? Roanoke? We'll see. Pictures to come.
