... like when he lived there (removed the wrap around porch) and got items from family members or locals to stock the inside of the house. It was informative and the volunteers were very knowledgeable. Heading west we had to stop at an antique store.
We headed west to Catawba IS where we stopped pulled out the chairs and watched the Ferry's cross to Kellys Island and Put-In-Bay. This being a Friday night we aren't sure what ...
... town and I bet it was packed last weekend (Labor Day) but now it is deserted with many of the motels closed. Went to the park on the lake and walked around. Many of the marinas still have a lot of boats and sailboats but this one only had a few. We woke up early today and did the 5 minute drive to Cedar Point theme park. ( if you go on you tube and look up cedar point rollor coasters you will see some of the ones I went on. I went on all of them ( millemioum force, sky scraper, speed freak Etc) . After 7 hours at the theme park we drove to Cleveland (an hour up the road) as we are flying to Miami tomorrow.
Today when we got up we drove from Milwaukee to Chicago to drop off Dads bike that he hired. After that we drove 4 hours to Sandusky. When we got there we checked in at the hotell then mum and dad went to the bar while I did 2 hours of unlimited bowling. In there it was all Fluro lights and super loud music. Later on that day I lined up for the a ride called Top Thrill Dragster which took me half and hour to get to the front only to find out that there was mechanical issues. It brakes down a lot though because it is the second highest and 3rd fastest standing ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Rodeway Inn South Sandusky
We decided to stay at the Rodeway Inn because (1) they were cheap, (2) offered free breakfast (donuts and coffee) and (3) had a free shuttle to Cedar Point. We made a big mistake!!!! First of all, the light over the sink did not work, and after three complaints on three different days, it never got fixed. The shuttle to Cedar Point was not on schedule, it was over-crowded and left us stranded at Cedar Point on night because there were too many people to fit on the bus. The room was not vacuumed prior to us checking in, and there were dead bugs on the window sill. The cleaning lady left the window open one day - problem being she also left the lights on. We cam back to the room after a day at Cedar Point only to find a room full of mosquitoes and other flying insects. We reserved the room for four people, yet everyday we had to go to the front desk and ask for an extra towel (only three in the room). While checking out at 9:00am, there was no manager on duty to complain to. Do NOT stay here!!! Spend the few extra bucks and stay someplace better!!!
I was not impressed with this hotel at all. The rooms are musty and the use can be seen. My room in particular had numerous spots on the floor, room 249 to be exact. Pass this one up!!!
Do not stay here!!!!
This was the worst experience of my LIFE!! Our room was triple booked after WE already checked in! We came back to our room later at night and found that management had taken it upon themselves to gather our belongings and moved them to the front lobby without our consent. They could not tell us why they did it, nor did they offer an apology. Needless to say, we did NOT stay. It would be in anyone's best interest to do the same. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
I booked this motel through hotels.com and got a very cheap nightly rate. Well, after I prepaid in advance I read the tripadviser comments were very negative. I thought, "how bad could it be?" Well, I should have stuck with my first instinct - this place was just as bad as the reviews said. We got there late Friday night and had to wait a 1/2 hour to check in as four guests came in to complain that there were other people in their rooms. Some people even said they had strangers walking into their rooms as they were double-booking!
Got What I Paid For
Took my sons to Cedar Point. Didn't care much about accomodations so took cheapest I could find - this place. Place is as basic as you get - 2 beds, bathroom, & TV. Thin walls. Toilet leaked, remote did not work, TV was about 30-40 years old - some stations very fuzzy, super thin (and rough) towels. Asked for wakeup call - never got it. A few donuts in the morning (if you were lucky). Didn't use the pool - spent the evenings at the Water Park. We were at the park all day, each day so we didn't care much - just wanted place to sleep. Its a dump but a cheap dump. It was bad enough that I will spend more money next time and stay at a nicer place.
Shut it down!
We reserved a non-smoking room but received a smoking room. It smelled like smoke and mildew and there were ants crawling on the bathroom floor. The dresser in the room was falling a part and there wasn't even an alarm clock. There were black nasty stains on the curtains. With all this we didn't use the pool; who knows how they maintain that!! Spend the extra $20 or $30 dollars and stay somewhere else!!!
This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. We had to wait over 30 minutes to check in while the person at the counter was on a personal telephone call and discussing her paycheck. The showers had mildew in them, the water was yellow. The shuttle to the amusement park was 2 hours late one day, and never came the next. To top it off, our video camera was stolen from our room, so the good memories of our vacation were gone as well! When we complained to management, we were told they would talk to people but there was nothing they could do. We will NEVER stay there again.
We booked two rooms (connecting) that were to have 2 double beds in each. We placed several calls to verfiy our accomodations- including two on the day of our arrival. After spending the day at Cedar Point, we arrived around 11:00 PM with a van full of tired kids. The young girl at the front desk flippantly said "we gave your rooms away so you are now booked in two rooms with one bed in each"I replied "we booked two DOUBLE rooms and we need FOUR beds"She rolled he eyes and looked at a co-worker and said "I am out of here. You are going to have to handle this"After some discussion they put us in a room that had five double beds. The room was huge, but VERY dirty. The single bath was moldy, full of bugs and hair, and very low water pressure in the shower. There were only two chairs to sit on, and a TINY tv with a broken remote.Upon complaining, NOTHING was done and they pointed out that they had given us a "special rate" ($118 is not THAT special when you are staying in a dump) of course, they *forgot* that the "special" rate was due to them giving away our original rooms in the first place.Don't stay here- sleeping in an alley would be more pleasant and MUCH cleaner.
The Worst Place We've EVer Stayed
OUr room was not ready for us to check in at 10PM, after a day at the amusement park!! We had to wait fifteen minutes for someone to clean it.
The controls on the TV didn't work by remote. Had to use pliers. The pool was filthy. There were spiders in the bathroom. Very creepy. This was summer 2002. Perhaps they've renovated.

Tried to charge extra when I was quoted diffrently. Pool was so cold that no one could swim in it, even though they claim that it's heated. Couldn't use the phone for local or out of state calls and no TV in the evenings. They claimed it was the weather. Don't stay there to save a few bucks.
