... and got into the car. Equipped with ham sandwiches, apples and bananas - we had no need to stop, so headed straight to Uncle Roger's and Aunt Carol's. We have had so much fudge and eaten so many pasties that we were happy to be back to eating sandwiches. ... the woods. I did see a deer however which was so amazing. It ran off and showed me his little white tail. After exploring the forest and enjoying the stillness of it all, we had our healthiest, most delicious meal since we've been on the road; grilled chicken and the roasted vegetables fresh from the garden with a little Riesling. Mmmmmm... Poochy thought it was delicious too and wouldn't let go of his chicken bone ...

Marathon Day!

... and determination! He finished in 4:20:55 and seventh in his age division.....not bad when you consider this was his first ever marathon AND it was a trail run. He chose it because of the setting; for nature and the reflective time alone in the woods. Whether or not he got to do any reflection we don't know. But I do know he finished and we are so very proud of him!

... trip. Now we are in northern Michigan working our way to the U.P.(upper peninsula). We had to turn on our little heater this morning. It's a little chilly here. Of course all the stops along the way include a trip to the local microbrewery. Next week we will be in Park Rapids to spend some time with Mike and Anita to work out the details of the trip.
