    Been a few days since last blog but lots to report! We had a really long drive up to Sequoia National Park from Yosemite, via Fresno (again!), however it was so worth the effort. Driving through Kings Canyon NP en route gave us a taste of the terrain, but nothing can prepare you for the sight of the giant Sequoia trees! They are simply huge! We trekked out to see 'General Sherman', considered to be the largest tree on Earth, ...

    Today we drove through Miami and stopped off at Santa Monica , we had a stroll down the pier , watched people fishing and avoiding the stalls selling tat. We then went over the bridge in the the retail and promenade area had a wander around Bloomingdales,Macy's and a few others. Onward to the beach for a sunny nap break then people watching on a walk on the pier.

    Time to move on and we head north through more beautiful ranching country. We find a campground outside of a small Danish town called Slovang. After only a cursory drive through (lots of windmills), we set up camp, eat and call it an early night.

    - Coffee on the balcony;
    - The Mission;
    - A bit of shopping;
    - Lunch;
    - The botanic gardens
    - Watching the sunset on the beach;
    - Drinks;
    - Dinner.....

    The sun was warm enough to relax on the balcony with a coffee by 9.30, so we didn't rush out. However, the great thing about our apartment is that you can walk to ...

    ... there he was! It took about 15 mins. For us to roam around and she wouldn’t take a tip or anything. That was so kind of her. I asked Dave how he did and he asked me to take a few dollars and put it away so he wouldn’t spend it and he gave me $500.00 WOW, he did good this time. We concluded that we will plan another trip around Mother’s Day/My Birthday in May and stay at the local Wyndham that ...
