Onward to the beach for a sunny nap break then people watching on a walk on the pier.
Time to move on and we head north through more beautiful ranching country. We find a campground outside of a small Danish town called Slovang. After only a cursory drive through (lots of windmills), we set up camp, eat and call it an early night.
We woke up at around 9 got some breakfast and stated driving to Santa Barbara. We started driving on the Pacific Coast Highway. But about 30 min. Before Santa Barbara a big fire blocked the road so we had to turn around and drive back to Highway 101 to get to Santa Barbara. We arrived in Santa Barbara and got some fish and chips. ...
... produce is organic, or at least fresh. The one in Pasadena was great, and the Santa Barbara version is even better. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood, and the check-out staff were laughing and joking with the customers....a million miles from the Tescos experience!
After our huge lunch we just about managed a light supper of goodies from Trader Joe's, and relaxed to music on the old record-player in the apartment.
