After just a few minutes, we were surrounded by hundreds of common dolphins, all eager to keep up with and to race the boat! ... at the Creekside Inn and got upgraded to a room with a balcony and right on the creek. Pretty sweet! We were looking for some chill time so we decided to head to the Cambria Pine Lodge. Little did we know that we'd be hiking uphill on a dirt path, oh well let's go. Once we arrived we found a lounge/bar with live music and a fireplace, perfect! Then we headed back down the path to another place with local food and wine, yum!

We decided since it was about 2pm we would have a late lunch then head out to see the miniature horses. Unfortunately when we got there they had already closed the gates for the day, bummer! ... room and settling down I took off for Solvang and Dave watched his football. I went into a few shops on the main street downtown and found a few great items for my amusement. I fell in love with a Cuckoo shop. All the cute clocks, I wanted to buy a dozen, a whole bunch of Black-Hills-Gold jewelry, and darling music boxes but I controlled myself and left with nothing from this shop.

We ended up reliving a lot from the film Sideways, though not intentionally. We stayed in the same hotel featured in the film, which is a windmill converted to a motel. We also went to the same restaurant, The Hitching Post, which is possibly the only decent restaurant here; we had an amazing steak, washed down with a bottle of Hitching Post wine from their own winery.
