Today we went to Yellowstone National Park. The park had just opened for the year and some roads were not accessible. We were handed a visitor guide as we entered and Jacob was really excited for me to read it out loud to him cover to cover.

... on arm wave along the remote roads.    It wasn't until we were approaching the end of our drive that a decent sized city, Riverton, appeared.  We were soon traversing the Wind River Indian Reservation and pulling into Lander, Wyoming for our night's stay. Sleeping Bear RV Park is located on a bluff overlooking the city.  We pulled into our small spots, and dropped the trailers.  It was warm, and the A/C ...

... all my calories for one day in a gulp!! The game started out slow, but became exciting about the 7th inning. We won 6-4! Sorry, Aunt Jean, the Diamondbacks are probably one of your favorites. We managed to catch the light rail home and in time to get Dru to a 6:00 activity! My grandchildren have been most patient with their crazy grandmother. Will give you a little glimpse of some of my mess ups!! .........Shopping in grocery store ...

Made poached eggs for the Master and struck out to see a little of Cheyenne. We stayed way too long at the train station Museum in downtown but explored it thoroughly. What an amazing feat to build our transcontinental railroads....and a wooden trestle bridge with lumber hauled in from Michigan!
This part of the country has huge uplifts ...

... the lack of tourists meant that we made such good progress that we soon reached our turn off at Moran and soon after left the park.

The mountains and forests soon gave way to bad lands, broken eroded ground, cut with gullies and dry washes. This made for great photos, with some beautiful colours, but it didn't last long. The badlands gave way to prairie land.
