    ... casino, just opened. Had a lot of fun, but they still had a lot of detail work to do.

    Ray and Phyllis came on Saturday night and we had a nice dinner; enjoyed catching up with the latest with great friends that seem to be full of fascinating experiences. They considered staying at the Casino, but decided on something closer to Omak. We went up to Cooley Dam, and took a tour through that, since Ray, the engineering whiz wanted to see the workings. ...

    ... the last few hours were spend in wine country along the coast of a huge was by far the prettiest place I have ever seen. (Close 2nd to AK maybe)...Orchards, farms, thousands of horses and ranches.... I will look up city names and lake names in a few days when I have more time. I am exhausted today, we drove 13 hours.

    ... The suicide race takes place all three nights of the rodeo. Horses run down a 62 degree hill that runs into the Okanogan River. The horses then run across the river and into the stadium. It takes place after dark and is very hard to see even though they have lights on the hill. It is an extremely controversial race because it is dangerous to the horses.
