    ... snack lunch at Najah's Desert Oasis. Thankfully, no kicks there either!

    Well, we've been through the desert ..., and we're now in Barstow. Craig did go for a swim at our hotel here, even though the hotel warns that the cleaning materials for the pool cause cancer!

    Sorry, no blog tomorrow, as we will be without internet access on the Rankin Ranch in California (sorry, Mary-Ann), so we will update you on Tuesday.

    ... in messing with each other. One jumps on another and they proceed to snort at and bite each other. Every once in a while a seal will feel the need to bellow. The sound is indescribable.     ... and are used in a wide variety of products including fiberglass, glass for TV's and laptop screens, fertilizers and cleaners. There was a lot of technical stuff on processing, mining, etc. that was too complicated for me, but the story on the Twenty Mule Teams is very interesting.

    To get the product to the train depot 162 miles away from the mine, mule teams were used to haul the two wagons full ...

    ... which we hoped not to meet on the road.

    We rode into Oatman. It felt like you had just ridden into a cowboy town and there was going to be a gunfight at any time. The were signs up asking you not to feed the Burro's on the verandah of the town. We took a number of photos and headed onto Needles. We then rode onto more "Easy Rider" movie locations as we climbed the Sacred mountains.

    Riding through the Mojave was enjoyable ...
