    Travel Blogs from Portland

Something I've noticed about travel blogs...

A travel blog entry by hannahjillayne on May 12, 2015

... entitled "The day I met strangers and ended up on a desert island in Thailand." Why is it that blogs for women travelers are all about what we shouldn't do, or what's not safe for us to do, or even worse, how to stay fashionable while not doing those things. It's just sickening because my travel experiences have never been plagued by feeling unsafe or style woes (in fact I struggle to recall a time I was in style while ...

... a pub with over 50 beers on tap (Apex) before we discovered the Streetcar home for only 1 dollar!

... most of the night shuffleboarding, and when we got kicked off, we chatted and laughed, and then shuffleboarded some more. Somehow I managed a few good games, even double spiking Jack on one occasion. Sorry again, unintentional, and if you asked me to do it again I probably never could. We did this in a pretty trendy bar, surrounded by trendy hipsters mostly over the age of 30, until 2am when Seb quite rightly reminded us that we had a bus ...

    Couch Surfing Is Great

A travel blog entry by alanhopkins on Aug 08, 2014

... Back at the bottom we walked then cycled back to Oregan Bites were we got loads of free stuff as they had some TV chef maybe bits and pieces and Onken were giving away hundreds of yoghurts. As we left a woman with a child was stood on the riverwalk with a sign about some disease collection, it was a crudely made sign and she asked us for money in that awkward way that people do "Would you like to help dying children" or something along those lines. We said ...
