    Today I visited the Lower East Side of Manhattan. This is a gritty neighborhood that has served as a starting point for most of the immigrants after their arrival in the US. That means this neighborhood is ripe with history about America's immigrant culture in the the late 19th and early 20th centuries.     Day 9 in NYC City and we are still shopping Great morning walking, viewing and spending time in. Macy's. Prior to this we spent an hour in Desigul. Vron left with two dresses and Deb a top. We spent 21/2 hours in Macy's which included lunch. We travelled on the wooden escalator.     ... Without a doubt though, the most incredible part of the entire plane was the HD, touch-screen TVs that came with each seat. Each screen also was accompanied by a touch-screen remote that was basically a fully-functional, mini-sized version of the main screen. Next to the screen, each person had a power outlet and USB port to charge wireless devices!! WHAT?! So much better than Megabus outlets. Is there anything Emirates didn't think of?     ... in front of us went to get different tickets so we were first in line for Avenue Q tickets. Rush Tix are usually cheaper than TKTS ones, but there is a greater chance of not getting one. Some shows do a lottery about 2 1/2 hours before the show.
