    ... literally dozens of cheese-makers. All the produce was freshly-picked, picture-perfect, and very appealing.

    We also visited Monona Terrace, a community/ conference centre designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1938, but only built in 1992. With a beautiful design based on the sphere, it is quite striking, and offers a rooftop garden overlooking Lake Monona. Finally, the capitol building, itself, is modeled on the one in Washington ...

    As the Wisconsin saying goes We think our outside temperature gauge only goes down to 40. That is what it always reads when it is cold like this morning. Of course that doesn't factor in the wind blowing about 30.

    We took off out of Elkhart rather early this morning under a sunny, blue sky. We gassed up Shorty and hit the corrugated Turnpike west. The trip was pretty long, for us anyway.     ... a quick bite to eat. It was called Kopps Custard and it reminded us of a 50's diner. Everyone was dressed in the white uniforms with the white paper hats. They had tables that you stood up to to eat, no seating. Quite the place and the burgers were huge and super good!
