The speed limit through the park was about 25 mph and there were plenty of parking areas to stop and take photos, so we virtually stopped at all of them. ... much I haven't yet seen in Laramie, so I headed back. There's a Women's History House that I intend to visit tomorrow. The first woman in the world to vote in a general election was Louisa Ann Swain. This took place on Sept. 6, 1870, in Laramie. Are there other women's museum anywhere in the world? By the way, Laramie is named after Jacques La Ramee, a French-Canadian mountain man, who was a trapper and loved to explore Wyoming.
The Cheyenne Frontier Days (CFD) is an annual event which this year takes place from July 19 until July 28. More than 500,000 people come to attend this great western show which is all about cowboys, horses, bulls and steers. ... as told to us by the bartender is: in the 1970's a male patron of the bar fell in love with a female bartender, she didn't want to have anything to do with him but he wouldn't let go. One day, the man got very drunk and upset, he started shooting his gun (38 something or another, don't remember). He went across the street and shot through the window of the bar and hit the mirror. Luckily he didn't hit anyone but he apparently got 10 years in jail ...
