Two days all about driving and quite a bit of it in the rain. The 275 mile drive across Iowa, literally a straight line due west on Hwy 20, was under a big black shifting cloud changing from mist to rain to a few bright spots to heavy foreboding gloom again. Not at all conducive to taking photos let alone stopping anywhere other than for short get-out-and-walk-about-a-bit breaks at truck stops.

Happy 10th Birthday today to sweet Grand Daughter Kristen Jane! Left Wall SD today, traveling through South Dakota. Interesting deer sculpture at the truck stop. Along this route lots of Sunflower fields and the most round hay bales I have ever seen in one area! Stopped off at the rest area near chamberlain SD for lunch. Beautiful views of the Missouri River here as well as a cool exhibit about Lewis & Clark. Stayed the night in Sloan Iowa. ...
