We were on our way from Ligonier to Bedford, PA along route 30 when we saw a sign for the National Park Service memorial to Flight 93, the plane that crashed near Shanksville on 9/11/2001. We had not planned on seeing this site, but here it was so we turned in. We were really glad we did because we were so affected by the experience. One of the things we learned was ...

... or South Asian), my guess is that many of the worshippers at this mosque will be doctors and professionals. Turns out, Hollidaysburg not only has a beautiful, charming downtown--everything I'd been hoping for from Altoona--but it's actually the county seat! Glad I didn't pass it up. In the center is another large cathedral--this one more of a gothic style with a towering clock tower that can be see for miles. ...

... There a couple little mini plaza-parks (with no people in them)... a couple of nice murals... a farmers market (with maybe 4 vendors). Still, it feels more like a symbolic effort more than anything.

I head across the tracks to see what more I discover. There's a railroad museum... but I balk at the 10$ entrance feel. I continue on south to where the city meets the woods--and things abruptly change. Beautiful homes along shady boulevards. Everything ...
