... quite see the latest ship through the trees but as it sailed out with an air of sophistication we recognised the dark blue hulk with red trim. Focusing the binoculars we could now see that it was Cunard's Queen Elizabeth it sailed by so serenely.
Our last night there was a beautiful full moon shimmering on the bay, a perfect end to our holiday.
It's now the morning, we check out at 12.00 and our pick up for the airport is 12.20 so just time for me to close my blog for another ...
... SUPER-behaved since then! We had our first back anchor mooring, and I was on the wheel. I think I did well, but some people say I hit the beach a little too hard! *shrug* We stopped at a secluded beach and all got in the water with our floating toys. They offered jetskis, wake boarding, tubes and parasailing. It was FANTASTIC!! We then got back onto the boats and headed out for Corfu. Maria took the wheel for some photo ...
Today's port is Kerkira in Corfu which is the second largest of the Greek islands in the Ionian Sea. The ship docked about 2.5 kilometres from the old town so we hopped into a taxi as it was a bit hot to walk the distance. It is a beautiful town with narrow streets and alleyways and lots of shops - especially clothes shops - which gave The Management plenty of places to visit. Of course, she found some clothes to buy while AJG sat outside and people-watched ...
... the other side of the town to the old fort. The city was built on two mountains with the old fort on one and the new fort (still several hundred years old) on the other mountain. It was hot today, it's hot every day but it is particularly hot today and of course we waited until around lunchtime to hike up the mountain.
