... it was time to go, I was given the last three bags of mackerel fillets. Another score! Nome is a complete contrast to Wongaling, climate-wise. It is very dry and dusty. Apparently Townsville has had almost no rain this year and it shows. The park is alright but not as nice as we expected from the reviews. The owners are friendly, the camp kitchen is ok, there is a proper dump point and our site is a reasonable size. However there is ...

That first evening we strolled along the beach and cooked up our kanga bangas (the sausages)! We both enjoyed this and thought it was like a meatier version of quorn sausages. The next day we decided to rent a car to get around the island as we have enjoyed our ...

... one Ford Capri and one pink Barbie car straight away. Happy days! Spirits were high. Saff and Rach went off to collect the cars whilst the 3 of us waited anxiously at Base. We heard 2 very high-pitched beeps from the bar and practically ran outside to find Saff in the pink Barbie and Rach in the Ford Capri - both looking very cool. Tor jumped in with Saff, Scar and I hopped in the Barbie car. We drove around the island and eventually found ...
