Had to fill in time ???hours while the ute had new shocky's fitted on both front and back as current ones were leaking. More money!!! But need to be done for safety reasons. Lunch at the hotel where Australia with Nicole Kidman & Hugh Jackman was filmed. They also stayed there.

Onto Townsville.
Townsville is different, first time we have stayed in a high rise, perhaps the last, as the people above have been pacing up and down and must have moved every piece of furniture. Its just a stopping place for Magnetic Island, but considered the unofficial captital of north Queensland.

Got someone to come pick us up in a old, battered, dusty, rentable Suzuki vitara.

We were taken to our safari tent. Which had an actual double bed in. And pillows. And a fan.
Was actually quite nice.
Decided to go to the newsagents up the road, it was a hot walk. Got an ice cream. Ari didn't enjoy it too much as it immediately started melting. Also bought some wallaby food.
