... on the subway you kinda pretend that the people next to you are not there with no one saying hello or chatting. You have to be quite quiet and just sit still there is no running around and playing beach cricket like we do in New Zealand. About an hour was enough for us and we were off on our travels. When we got to Ancona we checked onto the big car ferry. It is a much bigger boat than the Inter Island ferry in New Zealand and more like ...

So after cancelling some of our plans and accommodation we were told there wasn't any availability for hotels for Mugello. We decided we'd go to Rossi's village Tavullia and then make plans from there.

... the sun and the water. It was obviously not tourist season yet. We had the whole beach to ourselves or so it seemed.

We then borrowed bikes from our hotel and rode along the bike paths throughout the town. There were dozens of restaurants and cafes all along the water. The weather was glorious.

Paul contacted our car rental company, and he made arrangements for a late return of the car so we could spend time at the ...

... our dinner place, which we had walked past earlier in the day. We couldn't read a thing on the menu, and were trying to use Google for a bit to help us out before our waiter came by and spoke, as he said, 'a little English', but was of course more than enough to hold a conversation. We told him we just wanted some pasta with fresh seafood and he brought us exactly what we had in mind. We had tagliatelle with prawns, mussels, squid and a langoustine (which seemed to be an Italian ...
