... is a city deep in gray scale - the mist off the lake mutes most of the buildings to white or dull stone colors, and I have yet to see a local wearing anything but black. Even the other study abroad students seem to all be wearing black, while I am very warm but not particularly sleek or urban in my turquoise coat and cargo ski pants.

... bought for the entire week on the slopes!! They were happy and pretty awesome on the flight and through the airports. We arrived late and took the shuttle over the border to France and stayed at the Novotel. Dinner was late and we didn't get the kids to bed until midnight. They were so amazed by the tiny patches of snow when we arrived, it made them very excited, so after dinner it took a little while to calm them down.

... a little area at the airport, laid down our beach towel and attempted to sleep. Unfortunately they turn the heaters off at night and it got freezing! The floor was like tiles and although we laid on towels the cold came through them and even hugging all night we didn't sleep much because of the cold. AND it wasn't until the next day that we remembered I had a sleeping bag the whole time which would have made things a lot more ...
