Dominical, Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica, (506)-787-0036
... he made us think, he bought us breakfast and was such a gentlemen. He had to leave on Sunday, but then, I ran into Arnie, a guy I had met in Uvita a few weeks back. Last I heard he was in Canada, then Nicuagua, but there he was, in Domincal, eating at the place we were staying. He is a photographer and a very intelligent and interesting person. Kelly and I saw Jason and Alana, who were at the workshop back in March here in ...
Dominical, Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica sunmoongoddess... spot one. There were also fiery billed aracari flying about. As the sun set and our eyes adjusted lightening bugs began popping up around the jungle, how I wanted a jar to run around and catch them like I use to! With darkness setting in, we lit a few candles and sat down to enjoy dinner and each others company. After dinner we put our hiking boots back on, grabbed our flashlights, and headed out for a short night hike. Unfortunately it was somewhat uneventful, but ...
Dominical, Costa Rica adventuregirl... happy to find another fishing buddy after Sandy caught all the fish on his last trip. Around noon they returned with their catch of Snook, Spanish mackerel and Snapper. They also caught Rooster fish and Jack that they left with the captain or released. They had a good time, reporting that the catch was good and the seas a little rougher than when Ted & Sandy went out. For dinner we all went to Kukulas restaurant taking along our fish ...
Quepos, Costa Rica suspence... restaurants, pubs and clubs to choose from. We went to a few different places but it never really got busy, even though we stayed there til after 1am. Most of the gang went home at that point, but some of us felt it was too early. Val suggest that we go to was a pub called Key Lago. It was a nice enough, with a live band playing and people having fun ... there was something strange about the place though ... all the ladies could be hired out for the night, if you know what I ...
Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica tphilip75... a plate of perfectly golden brown, freshly baked French bread chunks topped by thick slabs of my favorite cheese. My little inner voice starts to say something about thighs and back fat, but I silence it before it can begin. I do have some strength left in me after all, though I guess some would call it weakness. "What the hell?" I say as I grab a hunk of bread and sit down for a gab session with my curvy friends. In the end, this is Costa Rica and back fat is SEXY in Costa Rica!!!
La Estrella, Costa Rica bootsmade4wlkin... them and was absolutely shattered. After about 3 ½ hours of walking I had had enough and could not find my way out. I felt like I was going to die how hot and tired I was and it took every ounce of energy for me to try and find my way out but as I came around the corner it was amazing there in front of me was a whole family of monkeys around 12 of them including babies. Suddenly all my tiredness was forgotten and I spent around 45 ...
Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica shoestringAfter 3 nights without lights or hot water, it was time for a little pampering, especially since Jane was still getting over the cold she had just passed on to poor Greg. As there was a big Manchester United match scheduled for the next day, we decided to splurge on a hotel in Dominical with satellite TV. We didn't realise until we got there just how nice ...
Dominical, Costa Rica gregandjane... her. It took us three shampoos to kill them all, and I won´t go into details, but de-fleaing a dog (or anything) is something that I hope I never have to do again. Washing my hands with disinfectant, I left Chiclet with my girls and ran to the kinder room to teach my last class of the day. When I got back, the calls to the mothers had been made and the answer was a resounding NO. No one wanted a girl dog and the resulting puppies. So, with my new ...
La Estrella, Costa Rica bootsmade4wlkin... right away but Vince, one of the aussie boys we had been hanging with in MA, showed up where we were. The town had two redeaming qualities, one being its great food, and the other being a cuter than cute coffee shop that offered free internet with purchase! Lovely! the only problem was it was also suseptable to frequent power outages so internet wasnt always available. After two nights in the lovely Dominical we decided we would head to Uvita, described in the LP as ...
Dominical and Uvita, Costa Rica travelrama... They actually do fix some of the roads here??? hhmm... At one point we are higher than the Irazu volcano we were at weeks before(well over 3400 meters above sea level). The 4 hour drive turns into 5 hours, but who cares, we are at te beach now!! Just as we pull into Dominical the engine oil light turns on!! No big deal, the brake light indicator has been on since Janice bought the car and the lady she bought it from said it has been on for the previous 6 years!! We ...
