      ... count on one hand the number of people who have smiled back or said hello. My lack of Spanish doesn’t help, although the people I have spoken to, in shops, cafes etc, have been fine. The one total exception to the rudeness of locals was Greta in Olite who not only said hello, where are you from etc but offered to drive me back to Pamplona, bought me a coffee and then met up with me back in Pamplona later that night! She was amazing!

      ... and then took the train there where we then waited for a shuttle to pick us up. At 3, a guy from Stoke Travel came and said he wouldn't have known if another guy there hadn't called for us. We drove up the hill to the campsite and realized that Zarautz was a beach town and we had been about 5 minutes walking distance from the beach.       We had hoped that it might have been warm enough to swim while we were here, but only a few hardy surfers clad in wetsuits were venturing into the surf, while all the locals were still wearing their winter coats and boots.
