    October 12, Sunday Gorge, Waterfall and Antayla

    This morning we left (almost forgetting to pay for our dinner)!! Firstly, the bus took us to the Saklikent Gorge. It was a great gorge – we walked through it – Craig venturing further through the wet bits. Once again a lovely day weather wise.

    We also went to spend 20 minutes with Doctor Fish – where we put our feet into a tank and let the little fish ...

    ... Anatalya and after more GPS misguidance, found Aspendos (Aspestos is my way of remembering it) which was an ancient Greco-Roman city. founded around 1000 BC by Greeks on the Eurymedon River. The amphitheatre has been renovated and is still used today. (More pics)

    ... as a fishing village. We ate fish sandwiches for dinner, and again for brekky the next day. Cheap and yum :) Tuesday we had a swim and continued onwards heading to Dalyan.     These are fantastic folks! Awesome sight - I will let the photos tell the story. Warm mineral, calcium rich waters cascade down the hillside in a series of pools. The travertine have attracted people to the area for 1000's of years. The ancient town of Hierapolis is based here at the top of the hill. There is a lot to explore and only 1 hour to do it.
