... this, I couldn't remember the name of one of the main buildings that we first saw on our tour. Reviewing my photos, as luck would have it, I noticed that the place where the picture is taken shows right on top of the photo. I guess I'd turned on location permission for photos when I left. Aren't I a smart little traveller. Leopoldskroner Weiher is the beautiful setting for part of the filming of the movie. We went back to Hellbrun Palace (but I didn't go to the ...

... the eight-bedroom family home, where he grew up. Here we got an insight into family life for the Mozarts and an overview of his musical career. Interestingly, while Mozart was popular for many years in his early years, his talent became less appreciated as he aged!  Nevertheless there is no doubt that he achieved a lot in his 36 years! By 6, Mozart could play the violin and piano, and he was composing operas by the age of 11! Now that’s no ...

Austria is such a beautiful country! First stop was Salzburg on the 5th July. Such a picturesque city. When I arrived in wasn't so sure. The walk from the station to the hostel didn't look particularly nice but walking into the old town reassured me I had made a good last minute decision to stop here. I decided to splurge a bit and booked two half day tours while I was here. I decided on the Sound of Music tour which was good. I had ...
