    A day in Robe

After a good nights rest we ventured into Robe. We are staying just outside Robe on a camp site near Long Beach and Robe itself is less than 1/2 mile away. The first thing that struck us was how much it had changed. We know that after 17 years things do change. We remember it as Australia's secret hideaway. Well time has certainly caught this place …

... getting a wave in return. Following alongside the Coorong we made fairly good time getting to Kingston SE and then an extra four K's to Wyomi Beach our free camp for tonight. It is an easy set up, the camp is very level and we were settled quickly. Happiness time was a quiet affair with nearly everyone attending. Over the road from the camp is a milk bar/take away shop. I read on Wikicamps that the fish and chips are great here and told the others. We all ...

Beautiful waters and rugged cliffs lined with sand dunes beckoning for any 4 wd to give them a go.....If only the Pig were willing.......Not ...

Off to Robe today on the Limestone Coast. Adelaide is getting closer. Passed Millicent but didn't see much. Stopped in Beachport this was lovely. A gorgeous coast with the Bowman scenic drive. Stunning little coves which you can imagine will be fabulous in the summer. Saw the Pool of Siloam which is 7 times saltier than the sea and a few degrees warmer. Would need to be quite a few degrees warmer than today to get me in. According to Tourist ...

... objected to the $200-$300 the caravan places wanted to charge to get a proper set of mirrors. So, we acquired a $40 pair and throughout the trip we have enjoyed the constant excitement of towing a caravan with improvised mirrors. Initially, the mirrors were just simply not long enough so every time we needed to check if there was a car behind us we had to drive into the middle of the road (safely of course!) and then turn the wheel to make the caravan veer ...
