... Each afternoon's air show featured an array of planes from the slow to the very fast and the relatively quiet to the ear-shattering loud, all very impressive and enjoyed (?) by all of the expected 500,000 attendees and visitors! Two evenings during the week, the night air show wowed the spectators, with displays by aircraft (including a glider and personal jet) illuminated with a multitude of lights and pyrotechnics, followed by a dazzling firework display.

Thinking of other options. We really don't want to drive south (past Chicago) as it's boring, but the trip north (across the Mackinac bridge (back-tracking our arrival) is quite a bit longer but much more pleasant of a drive.
