... they produce three alcohols: Arak (also spelled Arrack), Ciu and methanol. We were offered Arak and Ciu to taste them, the smell already told what a high percentage alcohol they were. The family that produced the alcohol was muslim and differentiated between producing alcohol as a business, which is considered ok, and getting hammered with it (which isn't).

As we continued our ride we saw a rice field where locals were planting rice. ...

Last treatment with Bagas this morning :( He is so cute, I am really going to miss him. I think that he liked his Transformers socks. And his mom is so nice. I feel like I got to know her better in the past week, even though she doesn't speak English. That day when she passed me on her scooter when I was riding my bike to the Orthopedic Hospital and she said "hello Miss Sonja!" ...

I skyped Katelyn this morning, it was so good to talk to her! Sounds like things are going good between her and Nigel. And she told me that she wants to move to Alberta permanently!!! This conversation really solidified in my mind that she is one of my best friends, probably my best friend who lives in Canada. I really didn't feel like being at placement today. ... Palsy Awareness Week. We went batik shopping with Mily, Albi, and co tonight. It was awesome! They took us to their friend's house and the friend is a seamstress. We got to look at all different kinds of fabric and choose the ones we wanted. I'm getting a dress (like Mily's), Aladdin pants, a scarf, and a headband made. I am also getting 4 scarves made for gifts. It's really cool having clothes made and being measured etc- ...
