... well all the kids played together! After dinner we were treated to a gymnastics routine and got beaten by one of the boys at memory! We then went home and Cristina got home not long after us. We had a drink and some biscuits while caught up with her. Today we had an amazing breakfast with croissants and different breads. During the day we went around the old town here in Wädenswil. We then went back home for lunch and for Lorenzo to have a sleep. For lunch we had ...

      Day 283
      3 hrs, 5 kms

It is a chilly night--but not unbearable. I wake up in the morning feeing quite proud of myself: I've managed to camp out high up Alps--and lived to tell the tale. I continue across the last cow pastures, towards the cozy little ski town of Stuben, which consists mainly just of hotels, restaurants and ski shops. From here, I climb above the tree line once again, up a steep slope and around a bend to another barren looking valley. Without trees, it ...

I figure I could try camping out, and if it gets colder that I can handle, I still have the option of hiking up to that town and checking into a ...

... some will come to a complete stop. On driver slowed down and swerved left, right, left right, not knowing what to do--even though I was a good 3 meters off the road! I guess it relates to the culture of everybody following a strict code of rules. So when someone is doing something against the rules (like a pedestrian walking in a place that's meant for cars) people get really ...

... s a whole network of trails up the mountainside, some catering to farmers who grow grass on the higher slopes, others cater to hikers. The higher I go, the better view I get of the valley, cliffs, forests, high mountain peaks, stretching on to the east and the west.

Finally I reach the trail that goes up to the base of the falls. I figure there's no point in hauling my backpack up, since I'm coming back the same way. And nobody steals anything here in the Alps... right?... ...
