Oh what a delightful stay! I can't speak highly enough of this resort, close to the beach; helpful, obliging staff, close to the Mission San Juan Capistrano, close to both fresh food which can be prepared in the well-appointed kitchen or on the BBQ and to the cafes and restaurants in the town. If you fancy a beverage and therefore can't drive you can simply wander along the beachfront past various cafes and bars until one takes your fancy. Our apartment felt like it had been soundproofed, as did my room - my friends are a couple and had their own room - both rooms had their own bathroom, and no stingy amenities here, bathrooms were large, cupboard space is large, living and dining space is plentiful. Even though our place was at the back without a view we could sit out on our little verandah and watch rabbits hopping around while our steaks cooked on the barby and we sipped our pina coladas. I loved it here, I could live here! There is parking underneath with convenient trolleys to wheel luggage upstairs. The location of this resort is ideal - half way between LA and San Diego. And Orange County is so interesting....

We found out where a supermarket was and went food shopping; our apartment in San Juan Capistrano is very well-appointed and has not only a great kitchen but a barbeque out on a small back deck which we plan to use to our utmost advantage.
Spent the day in San Diego today; the morning exploring Balboa Park and the artist's market there and the afternoon in Old Town San Diego, where we had lunch. Mine included a Carona Margarita - a margarita with a mini-Carona upended in it! Hotel del Coronado
We enjoyed a breakfast of porridge with nuts and yoghurt this mroning, then hit the road to LA where we struggled to find the right road to Griffith Observatory but nevertheless enjoyed the driving in the Hollywood hills. Eventually we found the right road, however the Observatory is closed on Mondays. The views were fabulous so we didn't mind so …
... the Buzz Lightyear ride and while everyone was fussing over trying to find someone to fetch it, I ended up strolling back through the exit to where you get off the ride. Luckily they had picked it up and handed it straight back!
After Disneyland we went over to the Adventure Park and found that the main roller coaster that was closed the last time we visited was now open - Hooray! It was a very long wait for "California Screamin'", about an hour outside in ...
