Oh what a delightful stay! I can't speak highly enough of this resort, close to the beach; helpful, obliging staff, close to the Mission San Juan Capistrano, close to both fresh food which can be prepared in the well-appointed kitchen or on the BBQ and to the cafes and restaurants in the town. If you fancy a beverage and therefore can't drive you can simply wander along the beachfront past various cafes and bars until one takes your fancy. Our apartment felt like it had been soundproofed, as did my room - my friends are a couple and had their own room - both rooms had their own bathroom, and no stingy amenities here, bathrooms were large, cupboard space is large, living and dining space is plentiful. Even though our place was at the back without a view we could sit out on our little verandah and watch rabbits hopping around while our steaks cooked on the barby and we sipped our pina coladas. I loved it here, I could live here! There is parking underneath with convenient trolleys to wheel luggage upstairs. The location of this resort is ideal - half way between LA and San Diego. And Orange County is so interesting....

After Disneyland we went over to the Adventure Park and found that the main roller coaster that was closed the last time we visited was now open - Hooray! It was a very long wait for "California Screamin'", about an hour outside in ...

... I think we were lucky. I definitely recommend ear plugs if you're a light sleeper like me. They block out the noise of people moving around outside, and the somewhat noisy plumbing. Breakfast was included in the price. Please note, it's very basic. But as a way of filling our bellies and getting us ready for the day it was adequate. There were cereals & yoghurts, pieces of basic fruit (like bananas & apples), bread/bagels to toast, pastries ...

... photos. This was followed by purchasing a tshirt for each of us to wear on our last day tomorrow. We eventually stumbled out onto the street and caught the shuttle one-stop home. We then had to detour to the 7-11 to buy cereal, milk, snacks, coke and other essentials for tomorrow. It's 11:38 and the kids are showered and tucked into bed ready to fight another day starting at 8 tomorrow. Other highlights: * Evan telling the kids lies as we went around ...

... the Jif wannabe spread and this has had far-reaching consequences we've only just begun to contemplate. First of all the taste is not right, but I think you may have guessed that from the start of this missive. Secondly, the texture is runny. For example, when sitting next to Matt in the middle seats of the minivan and holding the said Jif container between my knees to scoop out the spread onto ...
