... it used to be an excellent observation post for monitoring the coast-line. By the time we made it up to the walls, it was hard to see how anyone could have monitored the coast-line from up there. Like San Francisco, fog was starting to pour in, completely obscuring our view of Sintra below. We hopped along, up and down the castle ruins, walking along the walls.

... as a backpacker on a budget. I do recognize the irony that one consulting hotel night would cover my weekly backpacking budget, but in the end, I like the balance.
