... a walk along the seafront, stopping to take a million photos of the same thing, and walked right to the end, where we sat on the rocks in the sun for a while. On the walk back to the village i discovered I severely underestimated the weather, and was soon roasting in jeans and long sleeved top! A stop by the harbour to dip my feet in the clear cool water was definitely necessary...not to mention a good spot for Pete to take pictures of boats! ...

... and on my way back down the way I came to finally go see St. Paul de Vence, the only other major village that I wanted to explore in depth before I headed back to Nice. Unfortunately to get there, I had to cross through Nice myself. And so I did. Heck, I had three other protein bars on me. ... of time on the ground. But by noon we were feeling a lot better compared to twelve hours earlier. The crashing waves, warm sea air and big sun didn't take long to work their refreshening ways either. By mid-afternoon we were happily searching the nooks and crannies along the cobblestone streets lined with every type of pastel-coloured shop we could imagine.

As mentioned, central Nice is quite touristy and caters to a high-end crowd of sunseekers, gamblers ...

The next day we found out why there wasn't too much going on in the area we were staying, it was because we weren't in Nice in the first place but a couple miles outside of it. So after figuring out the bus system we headed into the Old Town of Nice. Nice was a warm, little city, especially the Old Town.
