... we saw two river otter, several deer, and a water snake (which was actually more cute than terrifying). The whole trip was a blast. On the way back we stopped at Sunbeam Hot Springs, where we sat in little pools along the river made by rearranging rocks, and heated by hot springs coming out of the side of the mountain. The rock walls get moved around depending on how hot you want the water to be. Then we stopped at the hot springs John had showed us, which was made by someone ...

It didn't sink in until we drove for ...

Then. After 1 hr of 98 degree weather in rush hour traffic through Boise, I found Hwy 55 North through the Payette River Canyon and all aches ...

Clarkston, WA to Cascade, ID--191 miles.
Campground: Camped tonight at Buxton's Cabin, Cascade, ID

We left Clarkston Friday after a leisurely morning. As we were meeting friends at their cabin in Cascade, ID, we didn't feel the need to hurry. It was definitely going to be a warm day! To get to Cascade, we traveled through more low rolling "amber ...

... and it isn't far from Boise. After lunch Bill headed to Sun Valley ( made it to the pass outside of Ketchum before threatening clouds caused him to turn back) and I was off to Yankee Fork Gold Dredge.

The dredge is 13 miles north of Stanley and then back a road that was paved for five miles and dirt for five. A chance to ride the pegs on my duel sport. The ride to the turn off ...
