    ... It did rain for awhile (which Sarah insists doesn't really happen this time of year) and cooled everything off so that we could have a fire and s'mores. Yummy! Plus the girls got some more snuggle time with Sarah's animals - including the chickens and of course the kittens. Bats hibernate in the cave in winter and it is home to a variety of animals including salamanders but the level of biological activity seems very low. They have found bones of animals in the cave, including black bear and grizzly but think the bones washed in.
