      ... 156 miles to the west of Québec, an easy three-hour drive. The tent camping season is over, and we stayed at the Holiday Inn in an excellent location near the old city. Like Québec, Montreal is an attractive city, but we were surprised to see several groups of homeless people sleeping in alleys and on sidewalks and holding signs begging to cars stopped at traffic lights.

      ... probably about 2-3 miles. Nice walk, and nice area. Lots of potential and as Dick read in TripAdvisor, not as much action on River Walk. There are a few restaurants and bars, but mostly the backside of buildings. We stopped a few people to get directions and advice. One gentleman told us about the Third Ward where there were some restaurants and bars! The Third Ward is about a block off the River Walk.

      Saw the Pedal Tavern, just like Cincinnati's Pedal Wagon. And, guess ...

      ... Frayer..... saw Johnson Wax another of Frank Lloyd Wright's icons in Racine, but we couldn't tour it.. only on weekends. We did a day trip to Milwaukee. cool city Ate at a brewery on the river .. heat had subsided..yeah!!

      ... start. We all wore flip flops and brought a blanket to sit on till we had to start. After two trips to the woods I was good to go. Yes the woods! There were no porta potties at the start. This is the first time I got caught pulling my pants up by a mountain biker on the trail! Stacy was supposed to be my lookout, fail!
