Monday 18th This morning we encountered out first ever Asian boarder crossing. I'd read articles about how horrendous it was so I was pretty interested to see if it lived up to its reputation. Apart from the fact that in total we had to get 1 taxi, 1 public bus, 1 Tuk Tuk, 1 boarder crossing shuttle and one sorngataaou (an ancient ute with bench seats in the back) the journey was incredibly smooth. 20 mins was spent at the border, purchasing our Laos visa ($35 and a slick sticker in our passports) and converting our remaining 4500 Baht into 1115000 Kip (this currency gets more and more complicated as we go on!).
