... cave and we planned to meet up again there. Well talk about hard work to find. Heading back towards the main road from Buddha Cave you take the turnoff heading to a national park and drive for around 20kms. We came to a sign that
indicated turn right for a Stupa and it said the cave also but it had been blackened out with marker, a local heading past pointed at us to go down that road. We arrived at the Stupa but couldn't see any other roads ...

... tree trunks sticking out of the misty water - especially as we were climbing higher into the mountains so it was getting both colder and darker.

We arrived in Thalang and found the guesthouse recommended by the bike rental company - it was our most basic accommodation yet consisting of a wooden bungalow overlooking the artificial lake. Early start for day 2 at 8:30am as we were told it would take us 4 hours to do the 60km to Lashao, ...

We had to make a lot of noise and be overly persistent to a guy with little English that kept waving us away. Luckily he eventually let us in and we made our way up to our room to happily pass out, knowing we had to be up again in a few hours ...

... local village, who accompanied us during part of the route. They usually do it if the road is a bit more rough. I love how those local guides walk in flip-flops while we all wear some special sole sandals! ;)
In the first day we had quite a lot of walking with a couple of caves on the way. We stopped in one of them and took a break. I remember it was the most soothing silence ever. You could only hear a dripping drops making you wanna go to sleep. At the ...
