After lunch, and Carroll got back from his work, we set off to visit Sleepy Eye, which is the town where Michael grew up. We went by Clear Lake, and they told us that it freezes over in the winter and a whole 'city' grows up on the ice, where people put cabins ...
... on 4 levels, and the bottom level has 'Disneyland' type rides and arcade games etc. It is a central core which the other levels are round.
Then we headed for Grace and Carroll's home in Waseca, about 2 hours drive through South Minnesota. The trees are just starting to change colour here, and Keith heard on tv the % count for how much colour there is in the trees! Only 20% here, but 50% further north, so we might see more as we head to Canada.

We had our first dinner in our house on wheels. A gourmet feast of turkey spaghetti (corn and quinoa pasta) which I slaved over on our tiny little stove and served on the placemats I made. Even though the reigns were slack, you could tell that the horse new exactly where it was going. Our goal was to leave Wisconsin at La Crosse - which is a Mississippi River crossover to Minnesota. We arrived this morning to pick up the fifth wheel. When we saw it in the shop bay our first reaction was OMG what have we done-it looks so big! But it is the right size and looks like all the other fifth wheels; I think that the front that hangs over the truck always looks big.
