Het ritje van Colombo naar Kandy duurde iets langer dan gepland maar we zijn er geraakt. We vragen de chauffeur om eerst nog even te stoppen aan het 'Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre', een mooie staalconstructie genaamd naar de huidige president Mahinda Rajapaksa. ... to see elephants! The pinnawala elephant orphanage was wonderful! It was first established in 1975 to take care of five orphaned baby elephants. The orphanage now has nearly 100 elephants. We visited in the morning when the elephants have their baths in the water. It was so funny because some were quite rambunctious - wrestling, running around..
