    On to two Roman forts, vindolanda, just off Hadrian's wall, and housesteads, actually on the wall. Vindolanda is a wonderful site of a classic Roman fort with an adjoining civilian settlement.     ... from the Magpie. Sat and ate them on the riverbank. Actually I was disappointed. Fish nice enough but greasy. Thought our local in Halswell does better. Anyway, will have kept Judith happy!
