However the backpack has been checked in and reality will kick in soon enough of the hugeness of what I'm going to be doing. Well I have been back for over a week now. This extraordinary experience is beginning to fade now I am in this new chapter.

I am so grateful and humbled by the whole experience. As I spend Christmas with cherished friends and dear family, I realise just how lucky I am.

The support I have had from really wonderful people who are kind and caring also humbles me. This entry is for them to say a huge THANK YOU.

      HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE.

      SEE YOU NEXT TIME.....;)

Finally with not much going on I decide to simply relax in my cabin and fall asleep to the gentle rolling of the ship. Tomorrow;s plan is to head for the German town of Darmstad and stop off at my usual hotel in that city and then onwards to the Alps the following day. All I prey is that the weather gets better as I go. And that's about it for today ...

... that. Those five ruled with a calm and steady hand from 96 AD to 180 AD. They were Nerva, Trajan, Hadrian, Antoninus Pius and Marcus Aurelius. This era also fell within the time period historians call the Pax Romana, or the “peace of Rome.” This was a 200-year period starting with Julius, just before the birth of Christ, the first of the Caesars, when stability reigned, territory expanded and building projects, many still standing and still a marvel ...
