    Victoria works at the commonwealth games so this morning she got me like a visitors pass and I got to go into the village! It's so cool In there!     ... fireplace and a china collection to rival the Queen's.
    This castle, due to it's setting, design and grand inside is used often for filming - in fact it is being used for a new British series right now. Since it was Sunday, the only impact it had on us what that the chapel was unavailable for viewing. The first 2 Harry Potter movies were filmed here. The family definitely trades on that and has many activities available for children.

    ... personal garden which she had made public to those who wish to wander through. Here was yet another inspiring walk. She told us how, when they had first bought the land in the 70's, everything was grown up with brambles, but now she has them pushed all the way back to a little stream with walkways and gorgeous plants everywhere. I hope that one day I'll be able to create something as beautiful as these gardens!

    Well, the incredible weather has finally broken. We had quite a bit of rain overnight, and today we've had occasional showers (occasionally) all day - fortunately mostly when we've been driving. We drove through the village of Coniston, and then our morning tea stop was Hawkshead - a beautiful little village full of whitewashed houses and the most striking multicoloured hanging baskets full of begonias.
