... back up the hill and to the pancake rocks where I expected to see some blowhole action since the tide was now full. Alas, nothing to be seen. You could hear the roar of the sea below, but no spray. Oh well. Having now seen the rocks three times, I felt like I had seen it all. Headed back to the hostel, enjoying the sunshine that was not predicted to last until tomorrow. The one thing I was really gutted about was that the mirrror lake on the road to Wanaka was not mirror like due to a load fo horrid rain! I had seen pictures of this lake and how the mountains reflect perfectly, but it wasnt to be, I had a brew in the nearby cafe and bought a postcard instead ...
