... the road was closed and there was a detour and he had to go north. And I argued that I had just driven there from the hotel to return a car, and he realised he was caught rotten. So we u-turned and went the correct way, and I only gave him a $1.95 tip. :P
Now I'm relaxing and watching the lightning and the wind out the window, and trying to decipher the thunder from the planes. Exciting times!
So it turns out to be NOT THAT DIFFICULT ...
We visit the Cultural Centre and walk to Navy Pier while people watching over a bottle of wine.
To be fair, we probably didn't see as much of Chicago as we could have, but fatigue is setting in and rest was calling our names. We did morning runs and workouts everyday to get back into the groove of normality. And after 6 weeks of being on the road, neither of us have been sick (touch wood) and for those at work - I'm hardly sneezing!!! ...
... could face out the window. They also had someone giving commentary on what we were seeing, the view was amazing and it felt like we were driving from the Wild West to Little House on the Prairie.

... I got back to the hotel room, we both had sore necks from looking up so much. I like Chicago better than Detroit because it isn't sad and depressed. You can feel the vibrancy here. Maybe it is because there is so much more public transportation. I feel I can't get around Detroit like I could get around Chicago. Taxis were everywhere as were buses, trains, and pedestrians. Detroit feels too spread out and ...
