... one. We found a map and accessed the situation. We'd cocked up. The sat nav had took us to the Skandlines ferry building, we figured that out because we were parked next to an office block with Skandlines written on it in big letters. Oh boy, we'd already paid for the ticket and if we missed this one the next one wasn't for four hours. We finally figured out where we should be going and it looked like we might be able to just make it, but only just. Let's go!!! ...

... our cruise is 3pm. We made it to the port by 230ish. The last 24hrs have been stressful hoping our Cosmos tour finished on time, flight to Berlin time didn't change, Berlin walking tour was not delayed and the transfer to Warnemude and Cruise departure all worked out. I knew when I booked everything for this 24hrs we needed everything to run to schedule as there was little room for delays. However given that our holiday itinerary changed ...

... silencing. A quote I had heard earlier summed it up well: "There is nothing you can say, so you stay silent, but in being silent you lie." It's hard to describe how it makes you feel seeing how horrible humans can be, but seeing the memorials makes you feel like there is hope that something like that will never be repeated. A Day at the Beach

... the beach. The beach was covered by these strange, chair-like structures which we soon realized are mini beach 'homes’ that can be rented for the day. They provide space for two to sit, a cover to provide shade and a lock to keep valuables safe while you swim. We didn’t rent one (though they were very popular with the locals) but will know next time to be ready to rent and make use of one.
