... The rain lashed down with lightning and thunder all around, the seas got angry and the wind at its height was gale force 8 , 39 knots. A trifle blowy ! This lasted about an hour and by the end of it we were wet but still smiling. Eventually the rain stopped and and it warmed up again and we arrived in our next destination of Otranto. This was the hottest day of our trip so far. The temperature in Lecce was hovering around 38 degrees. Not a cloud in the sky.

... was quite limited and so of cause is our Italian. We managed however to get some great local dishes that we had not tried before, without trading Selma for the Cheese platter. "Vorremmo scabbier quest piccolo rages per la schema di formaggio".

The language has caused us quite a lot of amusement. Stewart and I came across one particular sign on the way back to our apartment that forced us to stop to take a photograph.
