      ... other churches. It is as if every piazza or square has a church. It's fun to just meander through the crowded streets and pop into random stores that sell something that catches your eye and palate.

      Overall, a great end to our Italian leg of the trip. Look for our next blog! We're headed to Bangkok, Thailand to attend an international teacher's job fair for the next school season. Hopefully we'll have some good news for you!

      ... as the police move through the city. After taking the obligatory photos of St Mark's Square, we wandered down to the harbour and suddenly I recognised the place from somewhere. Yes, that building over to the right, and those foot bridges over the to left, and the island in front of us. But how? I'd obviously never been to Venice before. Then it struck me, I HAVE been to Venice before - in the computer game Assassin's Creed! Bizarre that I'd recognise a real place ...

      ... out the square was packed and the queues were building. Went into the Basilica, which as a church is free to enter, however they charge varying amounts to go into different areas which we didn't bother with. Callum was naive enough to comment that he thought the church was a not for profit organisation - ha!
      Then had a long wander through lots of alleys, over bridges and through lovely little open squares until we found the famous Rialto Mercato. ...

      ... out to the canal area for dinner. Had a great meal and it was about 11:00 pm. We had quite a time getting home......took over an hour. Once we got back into the back streets, there were very few people but we did manage a few late goers who eventually helped out.
