Croatia. What can I say except I loved it. It was an extremely cheap weekend (not including the money I spent on activities).
After taking a 12 hour bus ride to Croatia- which was also filled with a deer almost killed by our bus- I had finally arrived. I went with a tour group and so naturally I had 1 hour to freshen up, scarf down some breakfast, and then hop on a bus for another hour or so in order to indulge in ...

  • Booby-trapping our room to protect against rogue partygoers and/or croatians

    Julia and Jenna arrived safely at Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Rome yesterday after a long flight from Cape Town via Dubai. I'm extremely proud that these two confident young girls were able to accomplish this without panic or incident; it seems Mom and Dad (maybe just Dad) did all the worrying about large airports, the slave trade, etc. Remember that movie starring Liam Neeson called "Taken" about two girls who were kidnapped in Paris?

    ... photos of the Diocletian Palace area outside the Cathedral. I looked for good light and eventually went to the Cathedral. I thought the sign for the Bell Tower said it closed at 6:30 but .the man selling tickets said it closed at 7:30 pm. I climbed the huge stone steps for two floors and then went up several metal staircases. They were easier. I took photos all the way - on the landings, that is.
