Back to civilisation

... The statue park is basically a monument to the artist who created all the works. All based on the human body so plenty of statues with tits and willys on show! Some how i managed to fight the 12 year old boy urge inside me to take stupid adolesent photos amongst all the statues!

We spent an hour here and then headed back to the bus, only to find one of the group had gone missing. Normally we would not care and the person would get left behind ...

Familiar Oslo

... a cafe, a coffee shop and a duty free shop. You can guess where Steve and I ended up spending the little money that we did onboard. Yes, it was dinner from the coffee shop (a surprisingly tasty and cheap [everything is relative] pasta salad) and a 6-pack of cans of Tuborg from the Duty Free shop. Before shopping and eating we had to depart from Copenhagen, which in the local spelling, Koebehavn, can be broken down to Koebe Havn (Harbour). The ship departed the dock a little ...

The Norwegian Capitol

... to see the famous rafts and to lean about his expeditions to prove that ancient peoples could have sailed across the vast expanses of the sea. By the time we made it back to that area of the city (subway, tram and busses later) the skies seemed to have opened up and it began to pour. We trudged on and got soaked, but it was worth it. The Museum was fascinating, even if I was over the day by that point. We'd been off the ship since 10:30, and it was ...

On to Oslo

... It was a lot of fun, food and wine; 5 courses, a different wine with each course! I had trouble with a couple of the courses; #2 was grilled tuna, which I'm very allergic to (Joseph graciously ate mine), and #4 was the smelliest plate of cheese I ever smelled! Luckily I was not the only one put off by it. A couple of the guys loved it and ate every bite! Our second day was much shorter and was just Interiors ...

THE STORY SO FAR

... food he was told to take a seat and they would bring his food down to him when it was ready. Frank ate the fine supper but as he was walking out the door he couldn't remember if he had paid for it. Instead of going back to check, he didn't want to make a fool of himself, he mulled it over in his mind as he walked down the road. He passed an off-license on the way and thought to himself that a bottle of bulmers would be just the job to help him relax on the ferry ride. While Frank ...

Oslo

... back at the hostel. And read a brochure that the Ski jump from the 1992 Olympics was situated here out on a hill just outside of town. I talked to asked the receptionist how I can get out there and took a metro straight up a residential hill that overlooked the whole harbor and Oslo. The view of the stadium was interesting to see, that´s about all I can say about an unused multi million dollar structure. Making the most of the opportunity ...

... so even though I haven't been buying a lot of beer, or expensive beer, it's still pricey. My roommate and I are getting along great. We'll probably start running together. I've only been on a run once, but it was a nice run. There's a great trail that runs along the lake. I've biked and run along it, it reminds me of Greenlake, but the lake is about 10x bigger then Greenlake. So that's what I've been up to that last week or so. I think I forgot my ...

Hong Kong - Helsinki -Oslo

... at least it was much quicker than going via London - only 10 hours to Helsinki & another hour onto Oslo. Helsinki airport very modern & at last we were able to buy a few things to take to in to Dee - mainly perfume & wine which we could not buy earlier due to liquid restrictions for on-board luggage.

Cool & wet in Oslo but that didn't matter as we were taking ...

Oslo...

... fairly casual, but did manage to call someone. Gosh... Our room was better than we thought it would be, with good roomates and everyone keen to have an early night. The next day was spent at the train station for 5hrs waiting for the train for Stockholm. We had wanted to go to this random mini bottle musuem, but Lewis understandbly didnt want to leave our luggage with the hostel. So... A nice city, completely tainted by **** transport and hostel staff. - Lisa
