... gang of us who had worked in the commissary!

After the commissary, we toured the University of Maryland. To be blunt, it was difficult seeing so much real estate going to waste. It may be that it would be less expensive to knock the buildings down and rebuild - I'm sure there must be asbestos and lead paint throughout the building - but it was a bit shocking to see. Some of the buildings on McGraw Kaserne are scheduled for demolition in the near future.

For the last week I have been in Germany. From Brugge I caught the train to Brussels, then onto Cologne. I had four nights in Cologne which were restful. Brugge and Edinburgh before that had been busy often with late nights and early mornings. The main sight in Cologne, also very hard to miss is the Cologne Cathedral, it is Roman Gothic style.
