Hello everybody,

Today I started off with a free walking tour offered by my hostel, the guide was a nice Australian dude. We made our way to the center of town stopping at a couple churches along the way. I had not realized until today how much Munich was affected by the war, almost 85% of the city was bombed. Cremation was preferred to burial as it destroyed evidence of what was going on inside of the camp. The operation and cruelty to the prisoners was unknown to the german people. At the time just prior to when the camp was liberated by the American Army in 1944, there was a shortage of coal. Thus the SS were unable to burn all of the bodies and ...

Hofbrau Haus!

... kitchen! The bier garten was pretty cool though – it was huge and completely packed with picnic tables full of people eating various types of wurst, chicken and massive pretzels and drinking large steins (or a 'mas’) of beer. They only had one size for beer – 1L. That was about the standard in Munich. After a good meal of curry wurst for me and a quarter chicken for Luke, a couple steins and large pretzels, we headed ...
